About Regina Radon Solutions

Melissa Burnett (Co-owner)

With 16 years of experience in radiation safety as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, I’ve always been committed to protecting people from invisible dangers. But it wasn’t until I tested my own home that I truly understood the hidden threat of radon gas.

When I discovered that my home’s radon levels were three times the allowable limit, I was shocked. How could this invisible, odorless gas be quietly putting my family’s health at risk — right inside the safety of our own home? With my background in nuclear medicine, I was surprised that I had never heard about radon before.

The more I learned about the dangers of radon — especially that it is the leading cause of lung cancer in non-smokers and the second leading cause overall — the more passionate I became about raising awareness. I wanted to help others avoid the same hidden risks I’d uncovered.

That’s why I decided to take the certification through the Canadian National Radon Proficiency Program (C-NRPP). Radon testing and mitigation must be done by trained professionals who understand the science and safety protocols, and that’s exactly the expertise I bring to every home I serve.

I also discovered why radon is such a problem here in Regina: our city is a known radon hotspot. Our homes create a vacuum effect, pulling radon gas from the soil into dangerous concentrations indoors — even though the air outside is perfectly safe.

My mission is simple — to educate and empower Saskatchewan families to recognize and eliminate this silent threat in their homes. With professional, certified testing and mitigation solutions, I’m dedicated to helping you breathe easier and live safer.
